Creating for Fall and Halloween

As the Fall season comes to a head with Halloween right around the corner, my students are working on some spooktacular art pieces.  These are my examples to inspire my young artists.

4th grade is creating texture monsters!  Collecting textures from around the studio to create an original creature, real or imagined.

3rd Grade is creating Picasso style monsters!  After brainstorming the many monsters in our world, students use collage to create a monster without symmetry.  Here is Medusa and Frankenstein's Monster.

My First Graders are creating the legs of a witch or warlock.  Using pattern and collage to create something unique that may be found under Dorothy's house.

The 2nd graders are creating Haunted Houses.  Using size, placement, and overlapping, students create a haunting scene that shows distance.

The 6th Graders are creating an original piece of art.  Using several different objects, they will create a pleasing composition by changing sizes and using overlapping and placement techniques.  Here are 2 examples.

5th Grade will be creating skeletons in the fashion of sugar skulls.  Here are some ideas.
